While we are not actively using Five In A Row as our curriculum this year, we do still enjoy the stories. Little Nino's Pizzeria by Karen Barbour was no exception. (This is an affiliate link.)
To go along with the story, we did a pizza craft. I first did this craft with Miss M when she had just turned three, but she did not remember it. I cut pizza-shaped triangles from craft paper, and the kids painted the red sauce onto the pizza.
Then they glued a toilet paper roll to the top for the crust. Finally, they topped it with olives and cheese (their favorite toppings) cut out of construction paper.
Miss M actually did all of the cutting for the toppings.
I love how Miss M made hers (on the right) look like someone had taken a bite already!
We also made our own pizza's for lunch.
A tasty way to enjoy a fun book!
