We had a super busy Easter weekend this year. Sunday was of course spent at Mass, but the days before were packed full of more secular events.
For the first time, the kids colored eggs using Kool-aid. The colors were super vibrant, and I think this will be our new method from here on out! Even The Boyscout participated.
We also had a glow-in-the-dark nighttime egg hunt. I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it sounded fun. We put glow bracelets coiled inside Easter eggs and hid them in the dark. The kids LOVED hunting eggs this way!
On Saturday, we spent the day with The Bug's Godmother and her family. This has been an annual tradition the last few years that the kids really look forward to. This year we were blessed with a gorgeous day for an outside picnic. Along with food and an egg/candy hunt, the kids also played croquet.
The Bug has celiac and often cannot eat the many holiday treats the other kids do. This year, I made him his own gluten-free bunny cupcakes using jelly beans and marshmallows. These were a great hit with him.
It was a busy, but fun, weekend!
