Panda and Polar Bear

We have been learning about panda bears, and have read many wonderful books about them. One of our favorites has been Panda and Polar Bear
by Matthew Baek.

For a go-along project, M made a panda bear face. I have been wanting to do a directional-art project with M for some time now. One where she has to follow clear verbal instructions to complete the project, as a way to work on listening skills. This project was perfect for that. (This pattern can be found at First School.)All the pieces are heart-shaped. I was able to give M directions using the color and size of the hearts she needed to use for each step.

She did very well with this, so we will be doing more listening work in the near future.

I am linking this project to stART over at A Mommy's Adventures and to Kids Get Crafty at Red Ted Art. Both these blogs have great ideas for fun art projects.
